• Award 17: The Well-being in Hospitality Award, sponsored by Inspire Catering


  • Criteria:

  • Open to any organisation in the Scottish catering, tourism or hospitality sectors, this award seeks to identify operators who are leading the way in recognising and addressing mental health issues in the workplace and prioritising well-being and the introduction of measures to counter the negative effects of mental health problems among staff and/or customers.

    Nominations MUST include the following supporting information:

  • Describe the measures your organisation takes to recognise, approach and monitor the signs of potential mental health issues in all areas of the business. (Maximum 150 words and/or a precise link to the relevant page on your website).
  • Describe how your organisation addresses issues such as absenteeism, sick days and lower productivity linked to mental health-related issues, and how this approach has positively impacted on your employees, your customers and the business itself. (Maximum 150 words and/or a precise link to the relevant page on your website).
  • Describe your methods of communicating information about your organisation's approach to identifying, sharing and dealing with mental health issues among staff and management. (Maximum 150 words and/or a one-page PDF of your company’s policy. A precise link to the relevant page on your website is also permitted).
  • Describe your organisation's policies on positively changing perceptions of mental health issues in the workplace. (Maximum 150 words and/or a one-page PDF of your company’s policy. A precise link to the relevant page on your website is also permitted).
  • Provide details of your organisation's training procedures aimed at encouraging employees to identify and deal with potential mental health issues in colleagues and, where applicable, customers. (Maximum 150 words and/or a precise link to the relevant pages on your website).
  • Provide evidence of previous recognition and/or reward for your organisation's policies and approach to addressing well-being and mental health issues in the workplace. This may include press cuttings or evidence of external recognition and competitive success. (Maximum 150 words and/or a precise link to the relevant pages on your website).
