• Award 8: The Food Tourism Award, co-sponsored by Seafood Scotland. *This award is available for co-sponsorship*


  • Criteria:

  • This award aims to celebrate the value of the food tourism sector in line with the Food Tourism Scotland action plan. Entries are invited from organisations through which people learn about and/or consume food and drink, including visitor attractions, cookery schools, farm shops, retailers, food-and-drink tour operators, agri-tourism businesses, festival organisers and street food sellers.

    - Only links to entrant's own website will be counted. No third party web links are permitted.

    Nominations MUST include the following supporting information:

  • Proof of the use of the highest quality food and drink to attract custom and tourism to the local area, including flyers or menus. (Maximum 150 words and/or a precise link to the relevant page on your website).
  • Describe how the business’s food-centric philosophy is used to attract custom and tourism to the local area and how its visitor experience differs from competitors. (Maximum 150 words and/or a precise link to the relevant page on your website).
  • Proof of collaboration with suppliers in order to attain accreditations and certifications including, for example, VisitScotland’s Taste Our Best status. (Maximum 150 words and/or a precise link to the relevant page on your website).
  • Describe a measurable improvement in commercial performance and/or customer satisfaction as a result of the quality and popularity of the business’s food and drink. (Maximum 150 words or one-page customer testimonial attachment).
  • Describe how the business has helped to promote the local area as a food tourism destination, including any offers or initiatives designed to attract visitors to the area. (Maximum 150 words and/or a precise link to the relevant page on your website).
  • Provide proof of client endorsements, previous award wins and press cuttings. (Maximum 150 words, a precise link to the relevant page on your website or a one-page attachment, e.g. news article or award certificate copy).
