• Award 6: The Healthier Scotland Award, sponsored by the healthyliving award, in association with NHS Health Scotland

  • Criteria:

  • This award recognises the operator that has made an outstanding contribution to addressing health inequalities, promoting healthier eating and making it easier for people to eat healthily. It is open to all organisations within the Scottish catering and hospitality industry.

  • Please note:

    - Only links to entrant's own website will be counted. No third party web links are permitted.

    - Maximum combined size of all attached files: 8mb per nomination.

    Nominations MUST include the following supporting information:

  • Details of an operating philosophy that encourages the promotion of healthier eating. (Maximum 150 words).
  • Proof of the promotion of initiatives aimed at increasing uptake of healthier options within the business (Maximum 150 words).
  • An overview of a commitment to addressing and reducing health inequalities through favourable pricing structures, outreach programmes, employment policies, staff benefits, etc. (Maximum 150 words).
  • A sample menu (Maximum two-page attachment)
  • An example of how the establishment has gained and sustained a competitive advantage over its rivals using the provision of healthier options as a marketing tool. (Maximum 150 words).
  • A demonstration of how the organisation’s initiative has helped the local community to benefit from its work in the promotion of healthier eating. (Maximum 150 words).
  • Proof, as applicable, of previous competitive success and external recognition for the promotion of healthier options, including award nominations and wins. (Maximum two-page attachment)
  • Press cuttings and/or media interviews outlining a commitment to healthy eating practices within the organisation. (Maximum two-page attachment)
  • Customer references and/or letters of praise for the provision of healthier options. (Maximum one-page attachment)
